
HOWARD BANKER, Executive Director – Howard has more than 30 years community and project development experience. He has worked in both non-profit and commercial organizations. His skills include organizational operations and management. Howard possesses a variety of knowledge in creating and implementing targeted loan programs with counseling components. Amongst his achievements are a nationally recognized mortgage financing program for victims of predatory lending; direct operations of a national secondary market program linking counseling, lending, mortgage insurance and table funded loan purchases; developing uses for public and private capital and operational support and managing special needs housing loan programs; Some of the organizations that Howard has worked for include BNY Mortgage, Parodneck Foundation for Self Housing and Community Development, Low Income Investment Fund, Neighborhood Housing Services of America, The Community Service Society Ownership Transfer Project, the NYC Commission on Human Rights, and Northwest Bronx Community and Clergy Coalition. Howard is the coordinator for the Fair Mortgage™ Coalition and the Residential Owned Cooperative Manufactured Housing Project. He is also a consultant for national energy consortiums. Howard has a MS Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Pratt Institute and numerous certificates and licenses.
JENNIFER MURPHY, Deputy Director – Jennifer has many years experience in non-profit operations and management specific to homeownership counseling. Jennifer is also a homeownership trainer who has provided training for municipalities, HUD-sponsored seminars and counseling agencies. Jennifer's previous experience includes 10 years as the director of a large state-wide HUD certified housing counseling agency and 2 years as a mortgage bank's Community Development Specialist. She has worked with numerous organizations providing training and development of non-profit counseling and community organizations. Jennifer's areas of expertise include credit repair and homeownership counseling, predatory lending remediation, group instruction, affordable mortgage product initiatives, community development and section 8 homeownership programs. She has numerous accreditations and certifications including Neighborhood Reinvestment Training Institute Housing Counselor Certification, AHECTI Certification as a Homeowner Educator/Counselor, Mid West Academy Community Organizer Certification, NeighborWorks HECM counseling and numerous HUD training certificates including Loss Mitigation, HECM counseling and homeownership counseling. Jennifer has worked throughout the New York/New Jersey Metropolitan area. Jennifer has a bachelor's degree from Georgian Court College .
ROY HALPIN, Senior Loan Counselor/HECM Counselor – Roy 's experience comes from a long and successful career as a housing and credit counselor working with a variety of clients and types. He has worked as both a housing and reverse mortgage counselor. Roy previously worked for a statewide HUD-certified housing counseling agency from 1994 - 2005. Roy has provided both classroom instruction and individual counseling of Section 8 homeownership candidates, prepurchase clients, homeowners seeking reverse mortgage options, predatory lending victims and prospective landlords. Roy 's experience also includes two years as a reverse mortgage specialist. Roy has returned to counseling as our Senior Counselor for ALL AHEAD and as a HECM counselor. Roy obtained AS in Social Work from Ocean County College , AHECTI certification as a Homeowner Educator/Counselor. Roy also has had various training certificates from HUD and Fannie Mae. Roy has taken and passed the AARP HECM exam and is an exam qualified member of the HUD HECM counselors network.
AMANDA ALLGOR, Director of Operations – Amanda's background includes experience in intake, counseling, intervention and organization operations management. Her previous employers include a housing counseling agency, appraisal and Real Estate agencies, and a mortgage bank. Her experiences include: hands-on management of a loan counseling service; several years experience in data conversion and the use of and training in Fannie Mae Home Counselor Online©. She has considerable expertise at linking data bases for mutual support. Amanda Her certificates include Fannie Mae Home Counselor Online, NeighborWorks HECM and other certifications and mortgage lending certificates.
